Professional AC Installation Services
The first step in an AC installation is determining how many tons of cooling output your home needs. To do this, we’ll perform a load calculation. It will account for your home’s floor plan, ceiling heights, and square footage. We’ll also consider your home’s building envelope and location. A house that gets a lot of direct sunlight, for instance, needs more cooling.
Once you know the AC size you need, you can consider the seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER). The higher the SEER rating, the cheaper the AC will be to run. A higher SEER rating may also let you claim a rebate, a tax credit, and other incentives. Our installer will help you strike the right balance between your initial costs and long-term savings.
Many of the most efficient systems have a variable-speed air handler. Conventional blowers run at a constant speed, which is inherently inefficient. Variable-speed blowers ramp up and down in fine increments depending on the current cooling needs of the home.
We encourage all customers to upgrade to a smart thermostat as well. Even a basic programmable thermostat can lower your annual cooling costs by up to 10%. Smart thermostats have advanced features that can help you save even more. Those include profiles, energy monitoring, predictive maintenance, and so forth.
Another option for your new AC is a zone control system. Traditional central AC systems have a single zone, which is the entire home. With a zoned system, we’ll organize the living space into separate cooling areas. You could have a zone for the bedrooms, main living area, kitchen, and other spaces. That would let you maintain cool bedroom temperatures without having to keep the entire home that cool overnight.
There are many reasons to invest in a new AC.
- Lower humidity
- Quieter operation
- Reduced cooling costs
- Smaller carbon footprint
- Faster and more even cooling
